Our impact

We fund sustainable cross-sector partnerships between schools that have identified a mutually beneficial opportunity and an innovative way of delivering it.

We have funded environmental, sports and arts-based partnership projects in schools from Newcastle to Guildford, and provided advice and encouragement to their project leaders. You can read more about some of our most recent partnership initiatives  below.

Young Creative Journey
Workshops - Cheltenham

Student taking part in the creative arts workshop funded by HMCK Charity

The workshops brought together young poets and young designers and saw them create wearable pieces of art, perform, build confidence and access facilities not otherwise available to them. The workshops built cross-school friendships, cultural exchange and a showcase for families, staff and the Mayor. Congratulations!

Charter Trust VOCES8 Workshop
Southwark

The VOCES8 project at The Charter Schools Educational Trust involved immersive singing workshops. The project saw hundreds of children take part in workshops to develop creative composition, vocal technique, and performance skills. We were delighted to hear that it was our funding that made this possible in Southwark. Thank you for the opportunity!

Support for Little Green Change's Annual Magazine

Little Green Change is an award winning social enterprise specialising in environmental education among schools which supports the UN Sustainability goals and the Department for Education sustainability and climate change strategy. We were delighted to support their very dynamic Founder and Director, Clare Matheson in enhancing the reach of her work.

Swimming Confidence Club
Newcastle

This project increased the swimming confidence of pupils at RGS and 4 Outer West Learning Trust schools. It also built friendships among the pupils.  The RGS swimming coaches enhanced their skills set with the support of 30 trainee volunteers from NEP SCITT (Northumbria University accredited). A celebratory swimming Gala took place in July 2023.

 

Biodiversity Awareness Project
Thames Valley

The Thames Valley Learning Partnership worked with six local schools, from the state and independent sector, in the Slough, Windsor area. We funded visits to RHS Wisley and the provision of trees and bulbs. Every school delivered a sustainable biodiversity themed project at their school.

Corps of Drums Orchestra
Birmingham

We funded musical instruments and tuition for the Tile Cross Academy and Solihull School Partnership as they established a joint Corps of Drums orchestra. Over 30 pupils took part and the joint group performed at an event celebrating the partnership. The Tile Cross musicians have also gone on to perform at an event at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire!

Pathway to Hockey Club
South-East London

We recently funded a pathway to hockey projects. Year 5 and 6 state school children in south east London, who have not had the opportunity to play regular sport, were coached by Sixth formers at Dulwich College.  The student coaches, developed leadership, teamwork and organisation skills as part of their Duke of Edinburgh Award by coaching alongside professional coaches.

Primary School Book Club
London

A weekly book club for 60, Year 5 & 6 pupils from a local primary school was run by Sixth Form pupils from King’s College Wimbledon. The club improved literacy and academic confidence in the younger pupils. The sixth   form pupils gained leadership, teamwork, organisation and presentation skills.

International Languages Day
Kent

Over 60 pupils in Years 8 & 9 from five state schools attended a foreign languages and culture day at St Edmund’s School Canterbury. We contributed to the costs of the event which 92% of attendees said they enjoyed and 100% wanted to attend further workshops. The accompanying teachers said it was a positive day enjoyed by all.

Prospect House School and Our Lady Queen of Heaven Hockey Club

This partnership between has widened access to hockey, fostered teamwork, confidence, and enjoyment of hockey among pupils who may not otherwise have the opportunity to take part. Year 6 leaders worked alongside experienced PE staff, developing leadership, coaching, and community engagement skills, creating benefits for all involved. The partnership has kick-started an ongoing and thriving  relationship between both schools.

CERN visit for 3 budding Physicists in partnership with Sevenoaks School

The Liverpool@CERN Particle School was a five-day residential programme bringing together 24 students from diverse backgrounds to experience life at CERN. These three students earned places through a competitive essay contest and an educational partnership with Sevenoaks School. We funded travel costs which otherwise would been a bar to their attending. It was the trip of their dreams!

Senior School Transition Project
Kent

This project increased the confidence and reduced the anxiety in Year 6 students ahead of moving to their new schools post Covid. Participating schools sent 123 students to take part in an exciting, activities week lead by Sevenoaks School. Activities included a STEM workshop, obstacle course, team building and an art workshop. Year 7 pupils at Sevenoaks developed peer to peer mentoring skills, through their involvement.
